In celebration of the new year, the Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee (PHILJEC) hosted a New Year’s Toast held at Penthouse, GT Tower International on January 15, 2026.

In his welcome remarks, Chairman Alfred V. Ty extended heartfelt thanks to the distinguished guests and delegates for their significant efforts in promoting stronger Philippine-Japan relations in the last year, underscoring the 70 years of friendship between both countries and their shared goal of sustainable development.

Following Chairman Alfred Ty’s remarks, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya extends his gratitude for PHILJEC’s role in and dedication to reinforcing the economic foundation of the broader bilateral relationship between Japan and the Philippines. He emphasizes the theme for this commemorative year, “Weaving the Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, Possibility,” by highlighting the significance of further strengthening the fabric of friendship and cooperation between Japan and the Philippines.

The program ended with a toast from Co-chairman Ferdinand A. Ferrer.
