HISTORY
Under the initiative and guidance of the late Ambassador Jose S. Laurel III, the Philippine Federation of Japan Alumni (PHILFEJA) was organized on July 19, 1976 and officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 31, 1976. The following were the Incorporators of PHILFEJA: Amb. Jose S. Laurel III, Amb. Benjamin F. Sanvictores, Amb. Monico R. Vicente, Atty. Leocadio de Asis, Mr. Simplicio Z. Misa , Mr. Benjamin C. Osias, Mr. Jose G. Diaz, Mr. Bayani I. Gutierrez, Mr. Serapio A. Bravo, Dr. Diampo J. Lim, Mr. Benjamin C. Laurel and Mr. Halim R. Abubakar. Most of the founding members were wartime students in Japan known as the Nanpo Tokubetsu Rugakusei 南方特別留学生or Special Foreign Students from the South.
